TKJ 83 - Needle & Thread

The Kraft Journal 's 83rd challenges opens today with a Needle and Thread challenge.  Now I am taking that to mean Sewing, what about you...

Here is this week's card ...

I began with Kraft Blank Note Cards as a base, an easy and quick background.  After adhering some design paper and a die cut heart, I added design paper from the Kraft & Black Cardstock Pad as a backing for her button card.  A bow made from light green Savannah Seam Binding, a scissor charm, some wee button brads, and a computer generated sentiment complete the card !

I am always surprised at all the wonderful things I find at The Kraft Outlet !

What an incredible photo, all aged and crinkley, my favorite browns.

I thought for sure I would be doing a card just like it, but somehow, somehow, it turned out like this ??

How does that happen ??  I thought I took out the brown stuff, but it turned all soft and girly and pink.

So, at Papercraft Star this week our challenge is to use a map.  When I made this card I was thinking about someone from long ago, a woman who left behind her dear friends to come to America to seek a husband, a man who didn't know about her past. 

I just finished watching "Wives and Daughters", and sadly, a young lady's reputation was put at risk as she was seen passing a note to a gentleman.  tsk tsk

The Kraft Journal

Today I am so pleased to announce my addition to The Kraft Journal's Design Team !  Beth, Tracy and I were all old timers on Papercraft Star, way back to its inception.  How fun to back with them again !!

My first challenge is to create a project from a sketch.

The sketch I chose was a scribble in my sketch book, going back to a sketch I found at Tuesday Morning Sketches ... did I use sketch enough in that sentence, I dunno ... lol

and here is my kraft-y card !

My first card at The Kraft Journal began with Kraft Blank Note Cards as a base.  I used design paper from the Kraft & Black Cardstock Pad, and added Film Strip Ribbon, Journaling tickets, and a sentiment made from Chit Chat Word Stickers.  I finished off with a shabby bow and button from my stash.

The film ribbon has had some "pictures" added, with black cardstock behind it.

This is such an easy challenge - most of us start with a sketch.  Hope to see you at The Kraft Journal this week !!

My favorite ice cream is definitely, and without a doubt, licorice.

Sadly, one can only find it occasionally, but when I do, it is all mine !

The cone came from a children's coloring page on the internet, an excellent source of images for your copics.

My card today looks like this ~

I loved the colors in the picture, but I thought oh I will put in a little resin fairy, as I have a half dozen of those ...  So I used these colors, but then the fairy looked too garish, and I thought, well, I WAS inspired by the photo ... and it looks fairy-ish so that counts.  AND my best friend is a good fairy ...  so it all worked.  

But not until I anguished over it all.  Sheesh.  Will I ever learn this is not the end of the world ??
