Our weather today here in Western Oregon is rain !  Oh, and lots and lots of thunder.  We haven't had a day like this for a long long time.

Spencer started kindergarten this week.  He told his pop that he doesn't have to go to school every day, he gets Saturdays and Sundays off !!!  So he can still come visit us on Sundays !  Isn't it funny the things we sort of forget to tell kids, like they don't have to go every day for the rest of their youth !  

I am walking every day, using my new Fitbit Flex to measure my steps, calories used, miles, sleep patterns etc.  This thing is amazing !  Along with my two new pair of Nike Flex shoes, I am feeling good.

 I thought I would do a vintage card, but this is what came out of my fingers ...

Spencer starts kindergarten today, and we should have warned his teachers how precocious he is.  You never know what will come out of his mouth.

I have always loved back to school time.  When I was a kid it always seemed like a whole fresh start, everything brand new, with limitless possibilities.

When Brie was in school I was mostly happy to have some alone time.

Fall is near once again, and with it all the smells, warm ovens, hot drinks, cozy blankets, books that MUST be read.  I can't wait !!

The paper is Bazzill, & DCWV Chalk, the sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.  A very simple card, but I loved how the sentiment echoed the jeweled crown !

If you have been thinking about Weight Watchers, but haven't joined yet, now they allow you all the fruit you want !  No points, no tracking.  I think pineapple is my favorite fruit of all - and I do love it with chicken, or on a shishkabob.

I am actually finding some time to make cards !  Doesn't happen all that often, and this HAS been a crazy year, whew.

I created another card with a big flower.  Hmmm.  I guess that must be my theme this week.  

This is my 2nd entry into City Crafter's polka dot challenge.

I think this aqua color and red are a perfect combo.

The card made itself in about ten minutes.  How did that ever happen ?  I usually fuss and moan over them for a couple of hours.  lol

City Crafter has a polka dot theme this week !

Not only is this one of my favorite challenge blogs, but my most most most favorite theme EVER - I love polka dots !!

Not to mention my dear friends, Ros on the DT, and Sue as this month's guest designer - well, where else could I be today ??

It seems to me that the dotted swiss folder is a staple in most of our supplies !  And there is an excellent reason why.  I just loved it on top of more polka dots, and though it is difficult to see, the vellum also has dots, as does the flourish.

Here is a photo for this week's challenge at

I love the colors, and Love the little houses every where, AND the doors and windows in the books.  

I had to think long and hard about my favorite book, and though I read at least 200 + books a year, I couldn't narrow it down to less than about ten.

Then I thought about the books that make my life easier, and my favorite, most of all, is Gooseberry Patch's Christmas all through the House. 

The recipes in this book are deadly.  I keep it up on my kitchen counter all year long.

Well, and here is my card, celebrating yummy goodies !!

I went a little more like summer, but I like how it turned out !!

The Kraft Journal #132, Layers & Layers !

This week, at

The Kraft Journal ...

Layers !!

Who doesn't love lots and lots of layers !  I started off my card with a Buff Ivory Note Card, and layered and layered !!  I began with some design paper, layered atop more design paper.  I added a Vintage Black Journaling Card, which I fussy cut, and added a diecut to the top.  One more layer - a Silhouette Card atop more design paper.  The ribbon is Natural Burlap Ribbon, which curls so nicely !  The sentiment, from the ChitChat Word Stickers was afixed to a Flag Banner Sticker, with a button threaded with Natural Hemp Cord.  I finished off the card with some Washi tape inside, and a fun Custom Fastener through the burlap ribbon.

I had a lot of ideas for this one.  I love birdhouses in my yard, and have a few, along with a couple of birdbaths and bird feeders.

I ended up with one of my favorite digital stamps.  And stuck in a little purple too.
