My front porch looks a little like this, except for some witchy things, and a rat Spencer put right next to the front door.  It is kinda hidden, but then again, not quite.  It was a brilliant place to put it, and it scared his dad that very day !

The fun of Halloween is all in what part of your life you are in.  Lots of fun as a kid, kind of a pain when you are older, and oodles of fun when you have a grandchild !

Now Spencer has always had a thing for scary.  Lots of monsters, skulls, pirates, graveyards, all of that sort of thing, if  it would make a good Scooby-Doo story, then it is perfect.

Last year I made him a spell book, so he could write his (invisible) spells inside.

Anyway, today's Halloween card is going a couple of places ...

I wanted to do something with just a little softer green than I usually see on fall cards.

We lost a long time friend this week to pancreatic cancer.  While we knew it was coming, it doesn't lessen our sadness.  This card will go to his family.

This year I get to add two whole weeks at Walt Disney World.  Yippee !

Challenge 163 at Papercraft Star

this week !

I ended up somewhere out in space on this one.  I had planned to do something with some Monopoly title cards, and I have some really cute game stamps, but of course, I went in a different direction, and chose to highlight the metal aspect.

I tried to photoshop this, but it really messed with the sparkle and off white ribbon.  The truth is that the metal embossed part is actually the same pink as the cardstock, but there is no way I could get it to look right.  So it remains, untouched.

DCWV has new glitter paper that is softer, more pliable, and easier to work with than the usual glitter paper.  I think it has more sparkle too.  I have been making so many fall and Halloween cards it has been a relief to make something completely different.

This card won the Spotlight Artist award at City Crafter !!

It has been one of those kind of weeks.  Doctor visits, a mammogram, and a pre-op trip to the oral surgeon.  Brie is in Ohio, with the Oregon USGA Women's team.  She shot 73 today, par, but her other two days not so hot.  Said she lost two balls in the same 9 holes yesterday, and I honestly do not remember her ever EVER having a lost ball in tournament play.  So while she has been gone, I have seen Spencer a little more frequently.  He is enjoying kindergarten immensely, and signed his first autograph this week.

Today I am posting a card to the City Crafter Challenge.  Here is the photo inspiration

Our weather today here in Western Oregon is rain !  Oh, and lots and lots of thunder.  We haven't had a day like this for a long long time.

Spencer started kindergarten this week.  He told his pop that he doesn't have to go to school every day, he gets Saturdays and Sundays off !!!  So he can still come visit us on Sundays !  Isn't it funny the things we sort of forget to tell kids, like they don't have to go every day for the rest of their youth !  

I am walking every day, using my new Fitbit Flex to measure my steps, calories used, miles, sleep patterns etc.  This thing is amazing !  Along with my two new pair of Nike Flex shoes, I am feeling good.

 I thought I would do a vintage card, but this is what came out of my fingers ...

Spencer starts kindergarten today, and we should have warned his teachers how precocious he is.  You never know what will come out of his mouth.

I have always loved back to school time.  When I was a kid it always seemed like a whole fresh start, everything brand new, with limitless possibilities.

When Brie was in school I was mostly happy to have some alone time.

Fall is near once again, and with it all the smells, warm ovens, hot drinks, cozy blankets, books that MUST be read.  I can't wait !!
