Spring is the twist !

Here is my card ...

Our little Spencer had some work done on his teeth. They live in a very small town, and the Tooth Taxi came to his school. Here is a cute pic of him and the dentist !

That is one goofy smile.

We played Monopoly last Sunday, only to find he knew all the properties by heart, the names, costs, rents, and was perfectly capable of managing the bank. The game was accompanied by a very loud dialogue of what was happening.

Imagine 2 1/2 hours of THAT !

On Sunday I told Spencer that Thor The Dark World

was coming out in dvd today. I made a MUST trip to Target to pick it up this morning. Poor Spencer, he told me if I bought that dvd all I would

ever do is watch it. I am not that bad, am I ?? The joys of the girl fandom.

Anyway, hope you like this one, it is one of my favorite colors !!

I used quite a bit of washi tape here,

both on the stripes, and on the circle.

This was such a nice sketch, and only took me about 15 minutes !

When I think back to my first cards, in 2010, a card could take me two days !

I really agonized over them.

Sundown

Today I made a cheerful card for

Just Us Girls !

Their theme this week is Color

Aren't those colors fun !

Here is what I chose ...

Had a couple issues with editing these colors ...

The true colors are something in between

the two pictures.

Yesterday Spencer was over, and I could hear him putting together blocks and gears, and looking over the instructions (as he does), muttering

oh I did not realize this

it all makes sense now !!

We asked him yesterday what he was thinking about being when he grew up.

He told us his plans might change, but here are his current thoughts ...

1) A newspaper delivery guy

2) A rock star

3 ) A teacher

Six years old is so much fun !!

The Kraft Journal - Die Cuts

This week at

The Kraft Journal

I am joining in with the design team to bring you our theme this week, die cuts !!

I love love love die cuts. I am always so surprised how quickly you can turn out something that really looks cool, with very little effort. Spencer loves to crank that Cuddlebug, and always has since he was a bitty kid, and I always have a bunch of cool embossed and/or die cut things he made for me.

I began with a

brown Kraft note card, a bit of lace and a punched piece of design paper. I die-cut some brown card stock, and added three pieces of natural hemp cord, with a screw brad, and some TH tassel.

Green corrugated paper was torn, and adhered. Atop that is a piece of Mini Gypsy Ephemera labels, some stickered words, a mustache brad, and a clothes hanger clip.

Inside are more stickered and rub-on words, washi tape and a TH file tab.

I just love making guy cards !!!

I didn't manage the twist this week,

oh well ...

We got a foot of snow and I think I mentioned before we don't have snow removal equipment here since it NEVER snows ! Then we had an ice storm immediately afterward, with trees and branches down in every yard. We were without electricity for two days. I am so grateful the heat and lights came back on. One gets grubby mighty quickly without hot water !! The house was only 47 degrees when we returned.
