Shopping Our Stash - the letter "B" (black, brown, brads)

Unscripted Sketches - with this sketch ...

and my card looks like this !

and here is the tag that is inside the front pocket ...

Alas, I try so hard to make more colored cards, but I love the brown/black look !  I know that color combination never wins a challenge here in paperblogland, but oh well, I guess this is just who I really am.  lol

I used a crimper on some Kraft scrap, then distress paint, and a punch on the tag pocket.

Papercraft Star 94

Papercraft Star opens the 94th Challenge today with polka dots !
If these aren't the cutest shoes EVER, I cannot image that.  I posted this on my pinterest board, and it has been my most popular post so far !

Today I used #227 from our sponsor, theHouseAcrosstheBay.

The bow on her hat looks so real, doesn't it !  But it is totally part of the image itself.
Join us this week at Papercraft Star, we would LOVE to see you !!

In my mind and in my car

Here is this week's sketch from Card Patterns ...

No one is as surprised as I am how this card turned out ...

Not quite my usual style !!

I am also submitting this to:
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge - Spring with pastel colors

All the grandmas have cute names - but not me.  I live with the dullest grandma name - "grandma"  *sigh*

I have vainly attempted to interest Spencer in other names, but he is certain that somehow God gave me this name, and I am stuck with it.  I have been pushing for some sort of adjective to go along with it, like "Queen" grandma, but he told me I needed a crown for that.

Well, this week I greeted him with a crown, which he said "frustrated" him, but he did not ask me to remove it.  When I took it off sometime later, he asked me where it was.  I told him the magical fairies took it for a while, but he said

"Grandma, (with the same expression as one might say, You Dunce) magical fairies are only legends and tales...  "

as I fear any other name is ...

Congrats !

It has been a while since I posted a tag with an envelope.

Pretty simple ingredients, and not very much time to make.

The envelope is truly an envelope - just sealed on the backside, and cut across.  There is some brown glittered tulle beneath the flower that is difficult to see & lots of stickles.  Everything came from scraps and left overs, abandoned endeavors, or practice things.

Off to the following challenges !

The Kraft Journal - Kraft & Use your Stash
Celebrate the Occasion - Monochromatic, Congratulations

Kraft envelope - The Kraft Outlet
Cardstock - Kraft
Design Paper - Bo Bunny, G45
Stamps - TPC, My Mind's Eye, Delta

Cuttlebug folder
Ribbon - Close to my heart

Papercraft Star 93

Today is the 93rd challenge at Papercraft Star !
Our theme this week is ...

France !

All you need is a little French something on your card, anything at all.

Our photo inspiration ....

I have not been to France, though it is one of my favorite countries at Epcot !

Spencer says he is going to go visit the Eiffel Tower as soon as he is old enough to travel alone.  Why this has intrigued him, we don't know.  He hasn't ever said he wanted to go anywhere else.  So slap a little beret on him and I guess off he goes.

Does anyone remember that the Coneheads always said they were from France ?

Here is my little bit of France ...

B/W with some pink !

Today I began the arduous task of cleaning my craft room.  I really really wanted to do a card, but I knew I must clean, as I had no space to work !  Some of you probably know that feeling, lol.

I did get a part done, enough to make today's card !

The sketch is from Card Patterns, who I need to thank for a top 6 a couple of weeks ago !!

Also, I am entering this into City Crafter's Challenge, as they are asking for black and white with just a hint of pink ... And thanks to them too for the Spotlight Artist award last week !!

Fun card to make, and very easy.  The lace doily was stamped, embossed, and then fussy cut.  The cardstock was embossed with folders from Cuttlebug, and Sizzix.

Design Paper - October Afternoon, DCWV
Doily stamp - Hero

City Crafter has a great challenge this week for their 2nd anniversary !
....." go through challenge #1 to #103, pick a project created by our current DT and case it! "

Well, this is an easy task for me.  Not only have I played in this challenge from its beginning, I am a big fan of their DT !  But, since I had to narrow it down, I narrowed it to Ros, since she is kinda on my wave length.

And her back yard looks like mine does ...

Here is the Challenge I chose ...
Ros's first sketch !
the date was 1/11/11  !!
my dear teamie & great friend at PCS, Tracy McDonald was the guest designer !
what could be more fun ???

and Ros made this gorgeous card ...

and here is my copycat ....

I am kinda thinkin' I nailed it !!

Did I ?
or did it turn out like this ??

And yes, I did enter that challenge, and here is my card from January 2011

which I still like ...

Papercraft Star 92

This week at Papercraft Star our theme is Umbrellas !

When I was posting the design team's pics, I could not help but notice we all had different ideas regarding umbrellas !  At first you may think that is a pretty straight forward idea, but we had a drink umbrella, a parasol, an umbrella for a tightrope walker, two little girls and a poor lonely sad guy...

I really wanted to create the impression of abject loneliness, hope I came close !

Join in at Papercraft Star this week with YOUR umbrella - maybe you have another completely different/unique take !

Papercraft Star 91

Anything goes at Papercraft Star this week !  These are the easiest challenges of all.  Just pick something out of your "orphan" file, never before published, and off you go !!

I made another tag for this week's challenge,

The fun part about making tags is that the words only have to mean something to ME, though you may have something that fits this feeling exactly.  I am kinda guessing you probably do !

Spencer stopped by yesterday for a couple of hours while his Mom and Dad were busy.  We spent quite some time making a trap for the Easter Ghost, who was appearing in every unseen step throughout the house.  When we finally did trap him, Spencer unmasked him only to find one of his invisible friends - who was admonished to "never do that again!"  All quite frightful, especially since my paralyzing spells worked for such a short time on that (previously unknown) ghost.

Hoping a wonderful Easter Sunday for all of you and your families !!
