TKJ 85 - Back to School !

♥♥♥♥♥

Don't you just love Back to School time ??  This week at the Kraft Journal that is our theme.

When I was a kid I always felt like September was a time of renewal, starting a new school year, and having my birthday !  When I grew up, and my daughter went off to school in September I never felt any differently.  And now ?  Well, shopping and restaurant dining gets so much quieter once school begins !!

Here is my card this week !

I began with Kraft Blank Note Cards , and added design paper from the Kraft & Black Cardstock Pad, and some Graphic 45 paper.  I used two paper punches, added a ribbon and some ink.  I then mounted a September sticker from the Salvage Sticker Book, onto a scrap piece of Kraft card stock, and added a tag with a  Definitions Rubbing.   Stop over at The Kraft Outlet to purchase any of these items for your fall cards !

and up close

Hope you will join us this week at the Kraft Journal !

Itsy gigundo spider

♥♥♥♥♥

I went shopping today, and found my Halloween costume.

It is about 4 inches high ...

and yes, it is a hair clip.  Isn't this funny !!  I had to get it today because there was only one, and you know that something this cute would not be there tomorrow even.

Well, my card today is also a little spooky ...

Off to Colour Q with these colors

and to Twisted Tuesday Challenge's sketch

My spooky and very scary little card ?? Right here ...
(I put a little Diamond Glaze on the eye to crazy it up...)

My sister once fell off a toilet and broke her arm in 7 places.

She was standing on it, trying to kill a spider.

Papercraft Star 109 - Vacation

♥♥♥♥♥

Our theme at Papercraft Star this week is ...

Vacation !

Who doesn't love love love vacation !!

Here is our inspirational photo ...

This reminds me a little of when we drive down to Reno - except to Reno the hills are steeper, and the trees are all firs !!  But the sunlight dapples the road just the same.

For our vacation we did take our annual Reno trip this year.  We haven't really taken a long trip for years, but my favorite destination would always be Walt Disney World.

This is just the sort of thing I would have with me.  A little book with pockets jammed with tickets, and plans.  My family always makes great fun of my WDW preparations ahead of time, (a Disney commando I am), but they never stand in a line or wonder where to get lunch.  Nope, no standing around looking at maps and scratching our heads.  And that is how Dom and I rode Splash Mountain four times in a row, with no one around !

I am pretty good at bossing other people around when they plan a WDW trip too.

Hope you had a lovely vacation/holiday this summer !  Why not share it with us at Papercraft Star with a little reminiscence and a card ??  We would LOVE to have you !!

Who was recently given a Fulbright

♥♥♥♥♥

My post today has a card that is going over to the Play Date Cafe, and here are their colors this week ...

I never imagined I could use these colors together, so I am feeling pretty good about this !!

A simple, easy card.  I plan on giving it to one of the cashiers who works at the Ben Franklin store about a mile away.  She is celebrating 20 years with the company today, and that sort of achievement deserves a card !

Papercraft Star's challenge this week is a fair or a carnival !

Here is the sweet picture, for inspiration, if you choose !

Of course, I found my inspiration elsewhere.  If you saw Carnivale, the series, I think from HBO ?  well, that had somewhat of a darker side ...

very creepy ...

I am the featured designer this week at Papercraft Star, and I used these pages from our sponsor, theHouseAcrosstheBay.

TKJ 84 - Tags

♥♥♥♥♥

Our challenge at The Kraft Journal this week is Tag It !

Everyone knows I love tags, and I will incorporate them as often as I can into a card.  What a fortuitous opportunity, to include a tag in this week's challenge !

I began with Kraft Blank Note Cards , and added design paper from the Kraft & Black Cardstock Pad atop the lace.  I adhered a pocket, some metal bling, a wooden button and some jewelry cording, along with a sentiment.  Inside the secret pocket is a Small Kraft Shipping Tag, with a pull made from Adelaide Seam Binding, a Definitions Rubbing, and some coarse embossing powder.

If you have been watching the Olympics you have probably heard the Phillip Phillips song, "Home."  When I heard him sing that song on American Idol I couldn't download it fast enough !!

You and me = home.

TKJ 83 - Needle & Thread

♥♥♥♥♥

The Kraft Journal 's 83rd challenges opens today with a Needle and Thread challenge.  Now I am taking that to mean Sewing, what about you...

Here is this week's card ...

I began with Kraft Blank Note Cards as a base, an easy and quick background.  After adhering some design paper and a die cut heart, I added design paper from the Kraft & Black Cardstock Pad as a backing for her button card.  A bow made from light green Savannah Seam Binding, a scissor charm, some wee button brads, and a computer generated sentiment complete the card !

I am always surprised at all the wonderful things I find at The Kraft Outlet
All the things I love.

Stop by The Kraft Journal this week, and join us in this easy, fun challenge!!

Papercraft Star 106

♥♥♥♥♥

What an incredible photo, all aged and crinkley, my favorite browns.

I thought for sure I would be doing a card just like it, but somehow, somehow, it turned out like this ??

How does that happen ??  I thought I took out the brown stuff, but it turned all soft and girly and pink.

So, at Papercraft Star this week our challenge is to use a map.  When I made this card I was thinking about someone from long ago, a woman who left behind her dear friends to come to America to seek a husband, a man who didn't know about her past.

I just finished watching "Wives and Daughters", and sadly, a young lady's reputation was put at risk as she was seen passing a note to a gentleman.  tsk tsk

Stop in at Papercraft Star - another simple challenge for you.  Maps don't have to be about men !
