This week at Papercraft Star we are doing steampunk !! If steampunk is new to you, think of time machines, turquoise blue, flying ships, brass, machines, Jules Verne, pipes and cogs, clocks and chains. So many wonderful and imaginative things !! This is my most favorite type of card, as you probably know by now. I don't do them often, but I totally get immersed in the creating when I do.
Here is our inspiration photo this week - use if you choose, go full fledged steampunk or just use something metal on your project !!
The card I made was for Dom's birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I made an easel card. The top hat is a fussy cut image I found, uh-oh, somewhere on the internet, I did some black embossing on it to give it a shinier look. Also embossed, in gold, is the frame around the sentiment. I used an old watch on the bottom for the "stop."
The tag has one of theHouseAcrosstheBay's steampunk ladies, and the tag itself is from one of Rilly's cardmaker series, Flourishes. I added some jewelry fixin's to the top, and the frame I made from two spellbinders, and colored with distress ink. The rub ons came from 7 Gypsies. Yes, he LOVED the card.
Don't miss this challenge - you cannot do it "wrong" !! Link up now, until Monday 6am Eastern US, and get in on the fun and the prizes at Papercraft Star !!

ReplyDeleteJan, I just knew you would create something amazing with the steam punk challenge! You are definitely a natural for creating with metal and little findings. I always have to look closely at your creations because I always notice these little details. I just wish I could hold one of your cards in person because I am sure they are even better in person!
