City Crafter 63

♥♥♥♥♥♥

Ros has a sketch for us this week at City Crafter Challenge
I generally scrawl a sketch into a little notebook, so they are never precise.  If you are like I am, you probably measure every little inth to make sure it is right on target.  For me, not a good thing.  So I draw it, look at it only a couple of times, and hope it ends up kinda close.

Ok, now that I see them together, they are just the right amount of  near enough !

I want to make pink cards all the time, but the little card fairies draw me to something different.  This time I pooh-poohed them away.

Had breakfast this morning with my bestie, Rufina, at a quaint little restaurant on campus.  Eggs benedict with salmon - how good does that sound about now !  Dom is returning a borrowed item to Rufina's hub tonight, I will send this little card along with him as she treated me to that scrumptious feast.  {Heavens, if I go over it will be another 3 hours til I get home !!  Though she only lives around the corner, she and I don't dare drop in for "a minute", EVER.  Yak yak.}

Papercraft Star 51

♥♥♥♥♥♥
Papercraft Star has hit its year anniversary, and we are now on to the second year of our papercrafting adventures !!

This week we had this picture for our inspiration.

I started off with one idea, and here is how it turned out ....

Now, I am not quite sure how I got from there to here, except that Spencer is flying home right this moment, and just missed his connecting flight from Salt Lake City.  His other g-ma says he ran for all he was worth.  I have been thinking about him returning, which prompted the paper with airline information.

The sentiment is from TradeFish Designs, as we finish up their month long sponsorship.  Hope you have enjoyed all the manly sentiments and stamps we have used during June.  Please stop in and say howdy to our Cecilia - and have a look at her new endevours.  She will be coming out with new stamps every month!

Unscripted Sketches 112

♥♥♥♥♥♥

Another week of Unscripted Sketches !!  Thank you US ladies for a top three last week, Yippee !!   Here is a look at this week's sketch.

AND here is my take this week ....

The gorgeous French balloon image is from The House Across the Bay. !

Spencer returned safely from his trip to Indiana.  He had a lot of fun things to report on !  He missed his flight at Salt Lake City, and told us he ran through the airport so fast his pants fell down !  This poor baby just got out of size 2 pants, he can hardly hold up a pair anyway.  Well, he thought it was quite amusing, and not one bit embarrassing.  That is our boy.

Unscripted Sketches 111

♥♥♥♥♥♥

First of all, I would love to thank the ladies at Unscripted Sketches for awarding me a top 3 last week !!  That was very fun, and unexpected too !

Here is their sketch for this week.  I spent so much time on it I figured I should at least post it - even though it is so far out of my comfort zone I have no idea if it is really terrible or simply just awful.  Isn't it funny how that works.  Anyway, not my style one bitty bit, but it did make itself...
And now, (as Monty Python was wont to say) for something completely different.

TKJ 24 - Guest Designer

♥♥♥♥♥♥

This week I am the guest designer over at the Kraft Journal. One very cool thing about this challenge site is that they use Kraft and grungy type things from the Kraft Outlet.

The challenge this week is WELCOME SUMMER - and I always think of all the books I plan to read during the summer, and all the memories I have of books from the past. My dad took us to the library every week, and packed a giant suitcase with the books we were returning. I believe he presented a very very strange picture lugging that baby blue thing to the library each week.

I am not the frequent library visitor I was, even last year, as I now own a Kindle. I love my Kindle, but the library will always be a destination for me.

The Wizard of Oz book is actually some corrugated cardboard bound with masking tape (covered with ink) and a digi book cover image from The House Across the Bay.

Hope my card told YOU a story. I was very happy making it.

We are especially happy to partner with TradeFish Designs for our Anniversary Hop as both the company and stamp designs are owned by our very own Cecilia Stephens too! Leave a comment at every stop along the hop.
Now on to our Hop! You should have arrived here from Papercraft Star.

I love making masculine cards - I always think the best paper is the masculine stuff. I strung some washers on jewelry cording, and the two little "cufflinks" on the left are beads with brads through them. The sentiment is from TradeFish Designs, the Missing You package.

Next on the Papercraft Star Anniversary Blog Hop is Kim and don't forget to leave a comment before you go to qualify for the prize!

Papercraft Star Exec Reveal

 ♥♥♥♥♥♥

This week at Papercraft Star our challenge was to use the letters *S*T*A*R* in our project. My card earlier in the week with the design team incorporated that literally. But I used it a little differently with this card for the executive reveal.

S = support from my fellow crafters
T = tranquility as I craft
A = artistic aspiration
R = results

I made this card for a friend who left my breakfast haunt after 17 or 18 years as a server.  She is a cowgirl, yup a real one, does barrel racing and the whole deal.  I thought this was the perfect paper for her, and while not in STRICT keeping with the dual challenge (masculine) still reflects Levis and boots.

I bent the sentiment stamp from TradeFish Designs into the horseshoe shape.  The Coredinations paper was brown with an aqua core - I sanded it down after putting it through the Cuttlebug.

SLCS 6/14

♥♥♥♥♥♥

It has been one of those days.  Issues with blogger, my printer needs to be reinstalled, and hypertension.  Blah.

Today's post is going to Sassy Lil' Card Sketches - who provided us with this very cool sketch.
Here is my card today...

Spencer is leaving Saturday for his other grandparents home for a visit.  His other g-ma flew in to pick him up, and she will fly back with him too.  He has made a lot of plans for this vacation - he is going to swim in their pool, go fishing at a creek with the red fishing pole Poppa bought him, build a big campfire at night, ride the tractor, and meet all of Daddy's cousins.  He repeats this in one sentence verbatim, every time some one asks about his summer plans.

So no Spencer on Father's Day, and Brie is traveling to Portland to play in the Oregon Amateur, a 6 day event - 2 days of stroke play, 2 days of double match play, and 2 days match play.  If you lose, you go home.  We hope that doesn't happen.  Father's Day will be very quiet for us.

Papercraft Star 50

♥♥♥♥♥♥

All month at Papercraft Star we are being sponsored each week by Tradefish Designs. Not only did the DT have the opportunity to use Cecilia's stamps, she is giving away prizes like crazy. Yippee !!

This week's challenge is S*T*A*R - that is something that begins with each letter. Of course our dual challenge remains, turning that into a masculine card.

S = Sewing
T = Tag
A = Aqua
R = Rivets

This is the first time I have tried my stamps with clay. The clay I used, Makin's Clay, actually air dries in about 24 hours. I have used Fimo and Sculpey in the past, so I had a little experience with what I think is a tough medium. Mostly my problem is managing to keep my work clean and not squishy. That clay attracts any sort of little speck you may have, and I think even manages specks you don't have ! But it was fun, and I think made a wonderful showcase for the sentiment.

Design Paper - Cosmo Cricket

Unscripted Sketches 110

♥♥♥♥♥

This week I took on the sketch at Unscripted Sketches. Purples and browns made a fun combo I thought. I just finished hand dying about 50 yards of seam binding, and I am sure it is going to figure large for a while.

The purple rose I made about a year ago, so I am not sure what kind of stock I made it from, sorry. I made everything twice on here - seems as if it was a very reluctant card !! lol
